So..my '12 has just under 10K on it. I asked the dealer at my 10k maintenance to discuss going to synthetic and I explicitly asked for them not to rotate my tires. Why? I've got custom wheels and didn't want them to put them back on with an impact wrench. Long story short, the dealer just did their 10K maintenance, rotated the tires, etc. No discussion on synthetic and marched me on my way.

I'm thinking just letting Toyota do the normal oil changes until the warranty is up then chaining over to synthetic
    .

    Thoughts?

Not cool. You made a simple request and anyone with half a brain should have had no issues complying to the customer. I also instruct the dealer not to rotate my tires - and they always comply.

I would be pissed. I would much rather they mess something up and own up to it, than simply not listen to me or ignore what I said. Lack of communication is the number one reason to find someone else to service your truck.

Dealers are good for nothing. They try to stick it to you while you buy, maintain and sell. Do it all yourself.
