Hi everyone! My name is Adam and I'm a 28yr. married guy with my first kid on the way. I love my truck, but I've always been the "I dunno, pay for someone to look at it" guy. Well, my father-in-law got me into watching Top Gear and since the Toyota Hilux episode (if you watch TG, you know what I mean) I've had my pride cranked up a notch or twelve about owning a Toyota pickup. Now I want to know more. What can I do to get the most out of it and put the most into it. I plan on owning this truck beyond 300k and I would love to help it along myself as much as I can.
I look forward to what I'm getting into.

Oh! My Tacoma's name is Janine...from Ghostbusters.

Just saying but that was a diesel hilux a gas engine would not have survived its bath in the ocean. None the less i can give the smug look to people who say toyotas suck. At 220k with nothing but regular maintenance I laugh when they ask me to help them fix there jeep.

Welcome, congrats on the baby . With that said WATCH YOUR WALLET HERE lol there is a little bug that takes a big bite out of it it is called the MOD BUG .. :} I gather your wanting to learn more about wrenching on your vehicle perhaps someone you know does a lot of wrenching you can go help and learn. Or get a few basic automotive repair books read through them look for the ones geared toward no knowledge so they explain terms etc.
