I think this is something that was being offered to me at the time I was buying the 09 Tacoma. I passed because I wanted the factory installed BT so I upgraded to the JBL setup. Still a great choice.

This is perfect for me. Have 6 disc non-JBL setup with GROM audio usb/mp3/ipod inputs so this unit will give me the addition of multiphone connectivity with audio streaming from phones. This should pretty much max out the oem stereo features/capabilities other than SAT which I don't care about. I can keep my motorola bluetooth for bike rides, walking around and such. I have the 09 lower dash panel so no problem for sw to fit.

Not sure if you can stream music. I wasn't able to stream music on my 09 Taco. I can with the 13 though.

I went on the rostra site and looked the model for non-JBL for 05+ Tacoma and pulled up the user guide for 250-750-TY2 and the manual says it should be no problem. Maybe your phone doesn't support A2DP? My Casio Gzone Commando has A2DP. Now on the iphone 5 like the wife has, there have been issues reported with BT 4.0 but Apple was supposed to address this. Still not sure it'll work for her because it runs AVRCP from what I've read. My phone should work and that is what matters. I don't link my phone in her car either so it'll be alright. Guess I'll find out when it's hooked up but main purpose is still the phone part. Got plenty of choices for music via cd, usb, aux or ipod wired connections.
