    Hello,

I have a 2005 tacoma 4x4 with under 80k miles. Its always been babied.

I have had two major issues:

    1. When applying the brakes, usually when the brakes are hot or when on slightly bumpy road conditions, the ABS turns on and stays on, depending how long i press on the brake. Basically its prematurely engaging. Has anyone come across this before? Its very, very unsafe.

I did have the rear drums turned down and new pads installed. The problem went away for about 15K miles. Its back. Any ideas would be helpful. The dealer thinks its just out of round/warped drum. Still...... It shouldnt do that.

    2. At about 60k miles - When coming to a stop, the tranny would stay in second gear. When you go to accellerate, it would just revv then drop and slam into first.... This also happens when you are rolling slowly and press on the gas, or when going down slowly a hill and press on the gas. Dealer said that the tranny was underfilled from the factory, and that it didnt have enough pressure in the system, so toyota came out with a new fill procedure(which I havent found posted here). Basically they overfill the tranny and quickly put the overflow screw back. This resolved the issue about 90% of the way, but still the issue is there. You can work with it so it doesnt happen all the time, but I would like to figure out if there is some sort of recall for this. As the damage was done a while ago.

    any info would help! Thanks!!!!

Well, what I thought was a wheel bearing issue turned out to be a bad bearing in the front diff. Great. Anyone have any good info on these? Any ideas where to get a new one to replace it myself? Anyone else have this issue?
