Default programming for our doors is to relock after 30 seconds if a door hasn't been opened. This hasn't been a problem for me and I can see it's nice if you accidentally trigger the remote in your pocket, etc. However, I just got a new topper with the keyless remote door tied into the passenger doors (second click). Now if I'm just opening the topper door it doesn't relay to the system that a door has been opened (must be tied into dome light switch?) so it automatically locks the doors again. This means every time I open the topper the lights and beeper go off and lock the door. Plus I have to unlock the topper every time if I'm unloading stuff from the back.

Is the factory able to reprogram it to disable the automatic relocking? Any other work arounds?

You can turn off the lock/unlock beep. But that only solves half your problem haha.

Yeah, I know that, but I really don't mind the beep on the Tacoma. The beep on my last truck was ridiculously loud and annoying.
