Has anyone ever installed an aftermarket hood scoop? Found one locally and considering it. I think it just goes on top of the factory hood with 3M tape.

Obviously the preference would be to get a scooped hood, but for ~$30 the price is definitely right for right now.

    Your thoughts?

Most will probably tell you that it will look really tacky. Especially to those that know enough about Tacomas to spot a fake. But if you like it then who the hell cares what other people think. I guess you could always buy it and set it on the hood without peeling the tape and see if you like it. If you do, stick it. If you dont, return it.

Thanks for the advice. May be a project for an upcoming weekend. I am gonna start a build thread soon... I've been bitten by the TW bug!

    I believe the xsp-x tacoma uses a stick-on skewp.

For $30 a pop get 6. Duals on the hood, couple on the roof, and 1 for each door. :headbang:

If you like the way it look on there. Put it on and blend it in with some glass. Make your own sport hood.

If you looking for a add on scoop look at the mustang 05-09 gt style. Have one on my truck and the contour of the mustang hood is similar to the tacoma for a good fit. The Rousch hood scoop is nice too but a lil too long for the tacoma hood. Whatever you do don't go cheap as it will reflect. Take the time and have it color matched to your truck and you will be happy with it.
