Tire balance

    This may be a dumb question. What's the importance of balancing a tire? If rotate tires 5-7k miles, is it needed? I know we do it because that's what we do. I can change the tire at father in-laws without balancing.

    you balance the tire when you mount it to the rim. Its so your wheel doesnt weigh more on one side and start to wobble. If you are just rotating the tires it has nothing to do with balancing them
