Engine bogs down when defroster is turned on

I have an 06 Tacoma 4 cyl 5spd manual 4x4. My check engine light came on the other day for whatever reason, along with the airbag light. I called the dealer to get my warranty utilized, but having driven toyotas my whole life, I'm used to this kind of thing. The last day or two though, when I turn my fan on, my engine bogs down and the A/C light flashes orange. If I turn it off, the problem seems to stop. I also noticed when I switch to the defroster, that seems to make the engine act funny. I'm taking it in on Monday. Anyone have any ideas?

 

AC operates when in the defrost mode to take humidity out of the air

 

does the ac light flash orange or is it a steady/solid orange?

Sounds like you sir have a problem with the Air Conditioning Compressor. It is probably getting ready to grenade.
