You can buy them from the dealership for about $300.

Ebay has some pop up for anywhere from $75 - $200

Maybe find one in a junkyard for cheap.

Or you can post here in the 1st gen classified section for two years like I did and score one for $55.

If I recall correctly, I think RMAN had a lead on someone who was supplying them for $65 or $75.

All you'd have to do is dye it black (I can help with that process)

I'd shoot him a PM because honestly it doesn't get much better than that price.

Important: No matter where you look for them, make sure it comes with the 01-04 mounting bracket. It'll bolt right up with your 98-00, but the mounting brackets are vastly different between the two models.

Ok! Great! I'll see what I can get from RMAN! :) Thanks again! And yeah, I'll definitely be asking for your help on dying it! ;)

The easy way for me was to buy a strip of brown rubber baseboard strip at Lowes or Home Depot (like the kind used with school or grocery store tile floors around the base of the walls). Cost about $4 for a 4 or 6 foot strip. This stuff is just the right stiffness and matches the Tacoma interior colors perfectly. Then I took the console apart and used the broken anchor ends of the "thingies" as a pattern and cut new ones with heavy duty scissors from the rubber baseboard. There's two pieces needed per cup holder -- one with one tab and one with two tabs.

    Cup Holder Tabs :)
Hey guys, I am new to ToyotaWorld but i am loving the site so far. So I was checking out the mod section and saw that i could replace the cup holder tabs in my 2002 tacoma with 1/8th inch rubber gasket material. I went to Ace Hardware, True Value, Lowes, Pep Boys, and Auto Zone today and none of them carried (Black) rubber gasket sheets. I have searched for it online and still can't find it. Have you guys been able to find it online in a reasonable sized sheet like 12x12 or smaller. If you have, can you please shoot me the link? Thanks again.

My local hardware store sells it here.

It comes in 6x6" sheets which is good enough for two set of tabs. Costs $2.50

And FWIW it's not rubber, it's actually neoprene gasket, but the neoprene used for gaskets is much denser than regular neoprene.

If you can't find it, I'm pretty sure I have an extra 6x6" sheet in my garage somewhere. If you need to send me address in a PM and I'll send it to you.

Mudflap. That's the most readily available material.

I have massive sheets of 1/8 neoprene rubber where I work because we use it to make custom gaskets for water pumps etc.

You could try an industrial material supplier I use ISSI (Industrial Supply Solutions Inc) but I dont know if they sell direct to the public.

me too.. didn't feel like dealing with finding the right materials or cutting them out. I'm all for finding creative solutions and diy'ing but this was just too easy.

my originals were so gone there was no way to use them as a guide. Got the new improved OE ones. Nice that my cups/bottles etc don't fiddle around now, should have knocked this out a lot sooner.
