If that is your tank average, then yes that sounds about right.

You are getting excellent mileage, there are lots of complaints with mileage on our tacos.

You are doing very well to get 21.....when mine was stock I averaged a tad over 20, driving like Grandma.

21 sounds about right to me for mixed driving in an auto prerunner when not pushing for mileage. Best case config for the V6.

If you really need it to get better than that, the truck is surely capable. If I can get 23-24 mpg tanks out of my 6 speed 4x4 in the summer then your truck should surely surpass that.

On a related note, this week marks one complete year never less than 20 mpg :headbang:

Offroad for my truck means either getting firewood or getting a little closer to the tree stand or squirrel woods. Other than that, not really. The truck is my swiss army knife, not my toy.

Besides there aren't too many places to go offroading around here so I guess I just never got into it. It's either wooded or farmland and virtually all privately owned.

Figured all of your miles were onroad to get that mileage. I drop a couple mpg every tank full riding on the beach.

Virtually all, yes, mostly thanks to my commute. However I'm not entirely sure I'd count the last couple weeks as 'onroad.' Sure, the road was under the truck, but I could drive the 40 miles from home to work to home and never touch pavement thanks all this darn snow! Actually, this last tank, I was in 4WD for most of it driving through heavy lake effect snow almost every day and still averaged 21.0 mpg. Interesting.

EPA says 14/19 for me.... I laugh in their general direction. EPA says 17/21 for the OP's truck. He's at a good starting point with 21 avg tanks.

Oh Shit something happened!!! They must have changed from the winter blend to summer blend. I just topped off my tank which I do every time and went 310 miles with 13 gallons of gas. That equals 23.8 miles per gallon. The next best I ever got was 19.9 mpg. My Tacoma is a 2011 double cab v6 4X4 SR5.

If the next tank is a total bomb then the pump clicked off early this time ;)

However sometimes when the wind is at thy back and the truck is running like a top then the force is with you.

I can't wait until I can get LRR tires on my new used. Compared to the Dunlops on my old truck the Dayton ATs on this one roll like sandbags. Still getting around 22 though :p
