After getting my 2011, I notices that the wiper speed controll didn't seem right. I couldn't remember if it was the same as my 2005. I thought the smallest point of the triangle meant faster speeds as to the taller end being the slowest but not in this case. I just wanted to ask and see if everyone's is like this. I've attached a pic to show what I'm talking about.

They changed it a couple of times.
Yes, your 2005 most likely went slower with the knob all the way "up"

    YES!

I always SWORE my 2009 was back-asswards from my 2007!

It seems backwards to me, the shorter should be faster but it's not. Glad to know I am not entirely insane.

My '09 is backwards from my wife's '07 Camry. Drives me nuts when I drive one, then the other.

    You can change it.
The '05-'08 stalk will work on the later models.
I'm not 100% on the 12/13, but if it doesn't work, you'll be able to unload it here.

I prefer it the 2009+ way. It's similar to volume control knobs. Fat end of triangle = greater intensity.

The symbol on my 2011 Subaru is opposite to my Taco, small end of triangle denotes higher speed. However, the ring is rotated in the same direction, forward = higher speed.

Ha. Just had this conversation with my wife the other day. I'm like, thinner line=less time, thicker line should be longer time. She is saying, na the thicker line means more rain/intensity so faster wiping.

Either way, just have to get used to it. But it is ass backwards.

I look at it the other way.
I pull the stalk down one click for intermittent.
I turn the knob "down" to gradually increase the speed.
When it's not fast enough, I pull the stalk down another click.

It's a natural progression, one continuous motion.

Yup, noticed it was backwards when I changed from my 2005 to 2010! To me when the speed symbol is thinnest, it should mean a shorter break between wipes and widest should be the longest time between wipes!?? The 2010 has the widest being the shortest time between wipes...
