I don't own a Tacoma (yet) but plan to buy one when I return to the U.S. Have never owned a truck before but would like something to get around in, haul bikes and surfboards, etc. The kids are grown, I'm not an offroader, don't haul trailers and the truck will be in SoCal so I can't see getting a 4WD so I am thinking of getting the PreRunner Access with the 4 cylinder and stick shift. My only thought is that I think I will really like the Tacoma and then wish I had gotten a more powerful model...any advice?

Welcome to TW and Thank You for your service. I would def get the V6, you wont see much of a difference in the MPG between the 4-banger and the V6.

I am coming around to the idea of buying the V-6. I will test drive both of them and see how they feel ...
