Any one ever add rear speakers to thier 1st Gen Taco's. Ive got a 95.5 Ext Cab SR5 and am considering adding rear speakers. There apears to be a place next to the rear seats where speakers would be, but I havnt taken apart the interior trim to find out.

The 1995.5 - 2000 XtraCabs had spaces behind the rear side panels that would accommodate 6.5" speakers. These were the stock size rear speakers that came with the 'upgrade / better' factory stereo package.

Yeah I took one side apart yesterday and saw where a speaker might go, but I could not tell how one would fit in there. It was in the lower corner between that back wall and side wall, a hole only about 4" in diameter. I take a beter look at it when I get back home.

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
I put one of those kits with a 4" woofer, and a tweeter in my old 1994 access cab. At least I think it was a 4".. Used a piece of luan, and some black felt like material..

I think I was looking in the wrong location. On the rear side pannels I have the little storage box, which is where I believe the speakers would have been. Looks like I need to get the brackets and speaker covers from a model that had them and install them into my truck. Am I on track here?

I had a 97 with rear speakers. If I remember right there was a plastic mounting bracket inside the frame that the speaker was screwed into, and a removable cover in the panel.
