ever had problem starting the truck up with your clutch?

OK folks,, need a few quick possiable answer before I head to the shop in this late afternoon. The problem just flair up over this weekend and this morining.
When starting the engine, depress the clutch fully to the floor.. it wont turn over. got jucie and power. done it 2x.. then turn off and depress clutch 2x and hold it down.. turns over and it running.. WTF?

 

Have you checked and tested the clutch switch?

I don't have the manual so I don't know where it's located on a taco, but it sure sounds like it could be the issue.

 

Sounds like the clutch depress switch might be going bad. Try starting w/ clutch start cancel switch a few times??

 

I have had trouble with manual clutch assembly coming loose. When it does, the clutch switch does not always line-up with the piece that engages it. When I tighten the bolts holding together the assembly, everything works fine again.

 

thanks folks.. will check the clutch cancel switch on the side before I go.. sounds like pretty much the problem the depress switch on the clutch could be short or not line up.

 

UPDATE: Before I took it over to the shop,, a pal of mine looked under,, sure enough the clutch senser was out of like like Hairy Taco mention.. got it taken care of.. works like a charm.

Mine has been doing this lately.

The switch experiences wear over time. There are ways to modify it.

Somehow mine has been working for the past few times I have started it.
