Hey guys, I'm new here, and I've got a situation i was hoping someone might be able to help me out with:

My buddy pet sat my dog. My dog kinda ate a part of his rear seat in his 2003 Tacoma Double Cab. I'm trying to find a way to remedy the situation without setting myself back like 800bux for a factory seat cover and foam and all that. Since 1st Gen Crew Cabs are not common, I've had ZERO luck at the wrecking yards. I've tried to look the parts up online, but I can't find a site that lists actual part numbers, just "click here to buy" parts diagrams. I'm hoping maybe someone has a suggestion for me, or something. Like perhaps someone knows that the seat cover and foam are the same on a 4runner or something? Of course I have a "WTB" ad constantly running on craigslist, and check it every day or so for the past month, and no luck there either.

Thanks for any help or suggestions you guys might have. Oh, and it's the "charcoal" color interior if that makes a difference.

damn, man, sorry to hear! have you looked into an aftermarket seat cover such as Wet Okole? they are extremely popular on this forum and are very good quality. or is the damage too severe?

welcome to TW, btw. i grew up in the 'couve!

Some of the foam was torn up, too, otherwise that might work. The goal is to bring it back to its original condition.

Oh, and thanks for the welcome!

bummer. Sorry to say it but you might have to bite the bullet and just pay full pop for the repair.

Awesome site! You should look here first before paying OEM price.

You should be able to find a matching seat at a regular non-pick-pull yard.
There are tons of Tacomas out there, and they get wrecked, especially in icy weather like you have up there. Get a list of import yards within a hundred miles or so, and start calling. A good matching seat might cost you $200, but they should be out there. Maybe they can sell you just the cushion, if the rest of the seat is trashed. Thats what I would do.

I'm pretty sure that a seat from any 01 thru 04 Taco will work.

    I'll look at car-parts.com

I think extending my junkyard network is probably a good idea

As for there being lots of tacos in yards, yeah I've found a few... the problem is the 4-Door thing. Not a lot of 1st gen 4-doors get wrecked, apparently.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, and I'll stay open hearing anymore if they come in.
