20s would look sweet. MPG Drops, bigger the size of the tire the more it drops.

Power loss and gas mileage depend on the weight of tires and wheels combined, compaired to the combined weight of the stock tires and wheels. Also tire diameter affects the power and milage as well.

Something else to keep in mind. Take two wheels of the same make and model in two different sizes. Say a 16x8" and a 17x8". The 17x8" will weight more but assuming you run the same overall diameter tire (a one size lower profile on the 17" wheel), the 17" tire will weigh less than the 16" tire.

So with 17" wheels and tires, the wheel will weigh more but your 17" tire will weigh less (less rubber) than the 16" tire, again assuming it's the same exact make, width, correct profile, model tire and same belt ply's.

Here is just one example. These tires have the same ply rating and you can see the 17" weighs less.

However even though the 17" tire weighs less, if you run 20's, the weight of the extra metal on the wheels will never be offset by the lighter tire. At least I doubt it.

Looks at the chart for 265/75/16 construction E and the 265/70/17 construction E.

The 16 weighs 55.9 and the 17" version weighs 54.2...

You can pull off 20 easily as long as you keep a fairly decent tire size on your 4 cyl. Here are 22's on a Prerunner. The tires are 265/35/22's which have a 29 inch overall diameter. You would hardly see the difference in gas milage and power. As long as you keep you overall diameter 29 or less you will be fine.
