Need recommendation of heavy duty 2" ratcheting straps

    I need to replace my less than stellar Goodyear 1.5" ratcheting straps. I want something rated at 10,000 lbs with "J Hooks" that will last and I can trust to tie my Kubota tractor down with. 10,000 lbs will be overkill which I like but longevity and performance are top needs. What do you guys use and recommend? I also am looking in the $20.00 - $30.00 each strap range as I need two.

    If I had a nice Kubota tractor I would pop for some nice straps, at least you can use them on anything in the future. Overkill is a good thing.

    Considering the little amount you guys are paid for defending our Country, I just consider my tax money part of them as money you deserve. It is a damn shame when a trash collector can make more than the brave men and women of our Military and Law Enforcement. Thank you for your service to our Country!

    Lighten up Francis..

    FYI if those straps have any wear, cut, fraying they are junk. They get tossed in the junkpile. I have two the same way. Not useful to tie down cargo.

    Yea those are 5K when new. Mine are considerably less now :cool:

    If you were reading about stolen items from US property by anyone would you condone the actions?

    I have pride and care for this country, when I read text stating they were stolen it not correct.

    Not in my 20's but you can jump the that conclusion and the others you wrote.

    No issue with you, just going by what was written. Thank you for clearing it up and serving.

    I feel it is sad where our military has turned and the whole nation. The respect to wear the uniform is not what it used to be. I will leave it at that and not go into deep discussion about the youth of our country.

    Gentlemen, I did not want this to turn into a bashing of any sort. This is IMHO one of the biggest problems of conversing on the internet, people most likely would never say such things if we were all face to face. Member 127.0.0.1 (I think I got the "Home" octets right) has one of the best sig lines I have seen.

    Now back on topic. I decided to go with these Vulcan brand straps after someone who's opinion I value recommended them after decades of personal experience with this brand. My compact tractor only weighs in at 1800# so these will definitely carry the load. I use a 1/2" chain to secure the tractor to the front of the trailer and then feed the straps through the ROPS and cinch her down. I chose model #RS227W12 which are 2" x 27' and 3300# WLL (working load limit) and a burst of 10,000#. These are also UV resistant and stand up to the winters in Maine.     Concur. Keep it at tow straps.

    I agree w/ dirtfondler. Wally may not be the place to go for quality made straps.
