Ok, rethought the whole thing here. I am going 4wd. I know I said I didnt want it at first but this is a big purchase and I dont want to look back and not regret getting something. It makes the truck more unique and less of a work truck. I do camp and it never hurts to have it just in case. So what do you guys think now. Where do I need to be on price? He had be at 19.5 OTD for the base with 2wd what should I expect the cost to jump to with 4wd added? Think 22.5k OTD is possible now? Let me know, I want to call this guy right away.
    Thanks

$3K more just for 4x4 is too much.
Assuming it's the same truck (stripped down with NO options), $20,500-21,000.

I'd say it depends on your location as well...but that's not a bad deal...I'd shoot for 22k personally.

guys, I have been calling all over. Spoke to several of the internet sales managers and I am having no luck. There are only 2 5 speed 4x4 black tacos in the SE and the best pricing OTD I am getting so far is 24.5k. Are these guys just way off or am I being unrealistic? MSRP looks to be 21k and change for this model so where does that leave an OTD price? under 22k is definitely looking impossible.

    Yeah.
Dang, I haven't priced the base in a long time. I paid 8500 back in '92 for a brand new bone stock, no radio, only option was A/C. Sheesh, these things got expensive.

I am in Florida, I am looking for black only, yes very specific. I see 3 of them. Not too many, thanks for the link. So you paid 21.5 for the truck, what was your otd price? is your 4x4?

Now this is something that I am good at. I am not sure what the dealers are offering now but when I bought my truck I was able to negotiate them down to invoice. I would go for the access or double cab since it will have better resale value. If you buying new you will be able to get several quotes, I was in contact with 5 or 6 dealers when I was buying my truck. Yes they will deliver it to you if it's an out of towndealership. Make sure you get all your quotes in writing, I had them send me a fax. Make sure you get all your options added in at point of sale, I had the factory alarm added at a great discount. Your local dealership will usually honor another written offer or atleast come close to it. I was able to actually get offers below the invoice after I had made the deal but I had already purchased my truck. After you accept their offer make sure you put a deposit to hold the truck till you can accept delivery. I actually had to go up to Raleigh, N. C. To get my truck since my local dealership would not meet the other dealships price. If you purchase new then you will be able to get the truck exactly the way you want. The dealership can locate one for you or you can order it if your willing to wait. I told them that if I was going to pay over $ 20,000 that I demanded my truck to be exactly the way I wanted it. Yes it took 6 weeks to grt it but you might not have to wait that long. My local dealerships really do not like very much but I am not interested in being friends with them, My main objective is to get the best price possible. The internet makes it so much easier to buy a truck now adays. My friend is in the process of buying a Honda Element and I am going to help him. I know, I have already suggested that he should buy a Tacoma but he insists on the Element, I tried.
