They'd be worth the extra $30 if they lasted a few years. But they will last less than 2 years, I guarantee it. . . . and likely less than 1 year.

i'm not sure about "off road lights" but, my projectors modded fx-rs and 55 watt ballast and bulbs in 5k. they eclipse my vision-x leds. i have both on my truck and xenon lighting is still far ahead of led lighting technology.

when they begin to mass produce leds that have an actual optic to focus the light into a more usable beam similar to a good hid projector then i would agree with you. the amount of lumens produced is outrageous in some cases when talking about leds i have well over 5000 lumens of leds on the front alone and my projectors still blot them out imo its all in the optic.

but, now a days they are using reflectors and diffusers to spread the light the diodes make and thats where they fall on their face. don't get me wrong my leds are very bright and the light is useable in certain circumstances like when off road or when alot of light is needed in the foreground but, beyond that they are not that useful imo.

from personal experience they only serve to illuminate fog snow dust etc. at windshield level exactly what you don't want on the road as it washes out your vision. the extremely bright focused light of a quality hid projector doesn't do this cause there is no light above the color flicker hence light on the road to help you see and none to interfere with your line of sight.

    I love my zXe's.

Twice as expensive as another aftermarket? yes.

Huge light output improvement in bright white with a barely noticeable blue tint? yes.

works for me =) I'd buy them again in two years.

Osram Rallye 70/65W bulbs will blow Silverstar-anything out of the water for less money ($40/pr I think). Philips Xtreme Powers will too, and I think you used to be able to get them on eBay for around $30/pr. I haven't looked for those in a while.

The ultra-white/blue coated bulbs like Sylvania are just banking on the "whiter is brighter" mentality and the "HID look" crowd.

someone on the lighting forum had suggested these bulbs as a brighter alternative to the stock issue bulb. i bought them on ebay for 33 shipped free. G E claims 90% more than stock bulbs. well, they are much whiter and brighter, don't know about 90% because i don't have a bullshit meter. i would buy them again. my $0.02 worth

I bought a set of these in December even though I read on the back where it said they have a shorter lifespan, but I didnt think that it would be this short. Im down to only the passenger side low beam. $60 for 3 months of use is outrageous. Dont get me wrong, they were awesome while they lasted. Gonna have to throw the stockers back in until I decide on a HID kit.
