    What is a niddle? And a tittle?

    The sending unit is a Linear measurement of gasoline depth in the tank. The tank isn't linear, it is narrow on top and bottom and rounded somewhat. If the tank was rectangular or square you wouldn't see this effect.

    Most vehicles are like this.
