All TDi engines are made in Slovakia... same factory.

I did not say the engine. I said the car. The fuel delivery system is also different as mentioned on many TDI forums.

I'm actually a bit surprised that in this day and age they actually have a different HPFP for the Passat, but if that is indeed the case then a Passat could be a good way to go.

I like the looks of them too

It was mentioned earlier, but a Mazda 6 diesel would be worth a look too - but since the OP was thinking wagon I'm not sure if either the Passat or 6 are available in a wagon....
