My dad's H2 was brand new but had 1500 miles on it. Was a corporate vehicle that never got registered or titled.

I really don't see this as a big deal. If its the one you want but it! Would you buy it if it had 50 miles on it? Really no difference. So it doesn't have the 5 you wanted....so you're going to wait another month or two, that just sounds crazy to me!!

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
A nice Lady brought up a new car for me from Florida. My car was on a Florida Vaca. without me. I hate that!

I agree with this...If I was selling this truck and you wanted 1000s off for 250 miles we put on it to bring it to you I would let you leave. This will be my last post here honestly I find some of these responses annoying

1 Mile!!! Was that with it driving off the lot or when you jumped in for the test drive before you bought it? I had 1 mile on the ODO too but drove around to make sure nothing was wrong with it before I dropped $$$...Drove her off the lot with 4 miles on the ODO :D

I guess I am spoiled living on an island. Every new car I have bought always had less than 10 miles on it. The taco had less than 3. You can drive around this entire island and not put on 250 miles.

My wife sells Toyota's at a small dealer. Premium Tacomas are tough for her to get, they sell all she can get through allocation and trading so depending on your local market finding another one that fits your taste may be easier said than done.

She dealer trades all the time most of her drivers are retired or semi retired working for some extra $$$.

We waited 3 months for ours in the post and she had no less than a dozen dealers call and ask to trade it to them even with it having a sold status in the system.

Not saying that is the case everywhere.

Ok, another update on this one. First off the 250 miles was not the big killer here it was that I specifically mentioned I did not want a dealer trade and would cough up the extra cash for a flatbed if it had to be done that way. Even knowing that they went ahead and did it anyway. Found a dealer today who just tracked one down. It is a couple of days on the lot and he confirmed 4 miles on it. He is having a driver go get it tomorrow and flatbed it back.

He is matching the price to the penny of the other dealer and including the flatbed so I am happy. I am not getting a screaming deal here so I really want to make sure I get what I want. I am paying 24,175 out the door tax tag and title for a 4x4 5 speed reg cab. I think it is a decent deal but nothing absurd so I feel ok about shopping around and getting what I want when I am willing to spend the cash.

Anyone think this price is crazy high? Looks like taxes and fees were over 2k so the truck price is about 21.5

Yes you can. When I do gauge swaps the mileage is stored in the cluster. Unplug the cluster and you get free miles :anonymous:

I think he meant legally. I am surprised though that it is not stored in the ECU. Many vehicles store in the ECU to keep this from happening.

I was surprised too! I have an ODO from an 05 limited that has 490 miles. The speedo gets glitchy sometimes, but imagine the trade in....

What I was REALLY refering to in my previous post was how easy & simple it was to disconnect speedometers back in the day. Just reach behind the dash & unscrew the speedo cable from the back of the speedo. Took about a minute.

Given that just about anything electronic can be eventually be modified/bypassed by someone with adequate knowledge, it's not too surprising to me that you know how to disconnect the speedo. Thanks for letting me know. I was unaware it was so simple.

When I found my truck it had 1 mile on it and it didn't even get the inspection sticker on it. Besides the truck driver unloading the taco I was the first customer to drive it.

I like the fact that it was beyond brand new. I would be a little weary about 250 miles. Reason being that's a lot of test drives of people " testing" the truck.

Some dealerships will actually let the potential customer take the vehicle home overnight and then god knows what happens.

I think anything over 50 miles for me would be a deal breaker.

Bill, glad you got the truck you wanted sans miles. I don't think that's a bad price at all, but I'm no expert. Enjoy!

My wifes Tacoma came with 200 miles on it... But that's due to them having to drive it up from another dealer a couple states away. It's the only truck we could find with the options we wanted and told them to drive it on up :)

Any new vehicle will be just fine (I promise) with 250 highway miles. If you're worried about 250 HIGHWAY miles damaging your tacoma, then maybe you should consider walking instead of owning a car.

Glad you found what you wanted, but I don't think the mileage would have been a deal breaker for me. Like the pre-owned Aston Martin ad says...

Lol, I'll be the weird one, but except for the fact you TOLD THEM you wanted it 20 miles or less, I'd be pissed at you. It was the poor sales dude who probably had to drive the 230+ miles to the other dealer with a trade and paperwork and bring YOUR truck back just so you could thumb your nose at them. Oh well.. no one feels sorry for a car saleman, but still.. they should have told you what they were doing. I'd have probably taken it and forgotten about it before I got home.
