I know it been said before but I need an opinion. 2009 canadian taco so 4 leaf pack. 118000km so around 74000 miles. Botton leaf on driver side cracked. I already contacted the dealer for them to take a look and toyota canada is aware. Never put more than 400LB in bed. No way i'm paying $1200 to replace them. What do you guys think???

Replace the single broken leaf (and corresponding leaf on other side) and with a pair of Chevy leafs? 4WD OMD Cheap mod, adds more capacity.

Thanks for the quick replies. Just having a hard time thinking about paying a lot of $ for new leafs when this is a common issue and i'm very easy on the truck. Even the parts guy said that shouldn't happen

Just go to your local truck spring shop and let them change out the one bad leaf...I have rebuilt many, many leaf springs.

no, just change the one...the shop can match it up for you, they have the spec books and can cut, punch and arc to OEM spec.

I think your cheapest option would be to replace the one leaf, if it was me I'd get new rear leaf packs. The stock springs are crap and if one has broken already it might happen in the future again. If that is something your willing to deal with again later (maybe), then do it.

Bite the bullet a little and get some new rears, do it once and do it right.;)

Another option. In the mean time i'm going to do my best and fight toyota on this one. Still think this shouldn't be on these trucks. In the mean time if I drive it for a bit with the one botton broken leaf will I feel a difference?????
