    Hey guys,
Ive have a friend that owed me some money and wasnt able to pay, so he gave me a 2008 tacoma motor and transmision. I have no paper work and he "said" it only had 10k miles on it and was a v6 VVTI 4x4 automatic. My question is how can i know for shure what the motor is? Is there any way to tell by the numbers on the motor? And also what other cars can i put the motor in? Thanks in advance im not a mechanic and i know nothing about toys. Thanks

Technically speaking, can't you make a really fast lawn mower? Why limit yourself to a car? :p

I looked on google and didn't find any engines out of the engine bay...maybe I am not looking with the right words.

    is it 4cyl or 6cyl?

Anything. Depends on your fabrication ability.

What i meant was is there any other cars that have this exact motor already. Maybe it could be dropped right in with little or no fabrication.

Dropping it into something else may be more trouble than it's worth. I tried to do a 3.4 swap into a 2nd gen 4Runner to replace a 3.slow and it was a total PIA.

Seriously though, start searching for Tacomas that were salvaged for water damage. Straight body and investment in electronics (and some other parts) and I'm sure you could flip good profit.
