I would only be bothered if people actually spelled that way to "save time". Most people here spell quite well actually. Better than most forums I've been on.

That is probably true. What stands out to me about sale and sell is that it means the person typing switches two basic english words around consistently, and enough people do it for it to be a trend. Had no idea. I mean they're not homophones, so unlike a lot of typos, the person must be intentionally saying it wrong when they speak as well as in their writing.

Most instances like this are just spelling or autocorrect errors. I don't always catch all my errors before sending, and my fingers sometimes hit the wrong keys since I type without looking at the keyboard.

One that actually bothers me is lose vs loose. One of my professors actually used 'loose' in place of 'lose'.
