Went through an automatic car wash, stupid I know. I even considered taking the antenna off beforehand but my friend went through before me and his antenna came out fine.

Anyway, I bought a small drill bit as well as an extractor but I can't seem to get anything out. It doesn't even look like there is a stud in there. I purchased a 13' eurostyle antenna from antennax (won't be here for a few days).

If you look at my pictures, do you have any suggestions as to what I should do? Thanks!

I cannot remember what I did. The exact same thing happened to me. Ha. The guy asked me if I wanted it off and I said "no" because it never happened. Well, it happened and it scratched my paint.

I remember taking the antenna completely apart. I think there is a way to expose more of the threads... Maybe yours is different.

    Sorry about that!

I just ordered a short stubby $14 TRD antenna on ebay, since I installed my lift kit, the antenna hits the garage door when I exit and enter. Sounds like its about to break off..

I'll post details once its installed

I did worse. I tried drilling and stripped the threads. and then I tried taking the but off with needle nose pliers and no luck. (there is an actual tool)

And now I have a busted antenna spot. I think I need to buy the part that is visibl above the fender...or more.

Can you tell by the pictures whether or not the metal inside the black rim is what needs to be removed or not? When I put the broken end of the antenna in there it's so loose that it doesn't seem like the antenna would fit tightly in the first place.

Mine broke off in a carwash. I put a small bit on and drilled into the remaining stub and than slowly reversed the drill which unscrewed the remaining stub. I will take the new one off before I go through another car wash. The car wash manager gave me $30 of free coupons and that is about what a replacement OEM cost.;)

I did this a few years back. It snapped off inside the ornament, you probably need a whole new pole assembly (I did). That ring with the notches unscrews, if I remember correctly.

Hey me too! But it happened a few months ago and I haven't gotten around to drilling it out like others have mentioned.

Yes, yes you may. But, I'll hold off on it for the time being. Saving my $$ for other things at the moment. :D
