I had an 04 (new body style) extended cab and I loved it! It drove and handled like a truck, it had plenty of power and towed everything I put behind it.
The problem? It drove like truck, lol it felt very rigid, I used it for my family vehicle and we had a newborn.
Lets face it you cant beat how smooth the Tacoma rides. If your not gonna use your truck constantly for working I think you should stay with the taco.

I had an 05 f150 and loved it as a truck, it did everything great. But it didn't feel too connected to the ground unlike I do in the Tacoma, I always felt like I was floating around and not sure footed.

Tundra Sucks. Ford quality is not bad. I love the new 2009 F150. If you need/can affrord that much truck have at it. but for me, I was driving around in a F250 FX4 Lariat Crew cab/std bed 6.0 diesel and really didn't need that much truck. That was a sweet truck though. Ford has always made great trucks. The Taco is a good small truck. The tundra is a overgron pile of shiz. Such a large Ring & pinion, but it's still a semi-floater axle. c-channel frame that flexes a lot. bad MPG's. Overall a "trendy' truck.

My 97 F-150 is still running strong (sold it to my stepdad before I bought my Taco). Other than a few small repairs and regular maintenance stuff, it was rock solid.

Would I buy another F-150 based on my experience with my previous truck? Absolutely! Do I need the capability that the current F-150 offers? Absolutely not! And that's the issue as I see it. The new 1/2 tons seem to be closer to a 3/4 or even a 1 ton from 10 years ago. They are just way too much truck for what I need. If you need that capability, I say go for it. For that application, I still think the F-150 is the best 1/2 ton on the market. If you don't need that much capability, then I think you are currently driving the best truck on the market.

    Good luck!

Well I have a chance to scoop up a set for $250(For all 4), so I'm considering it. Still not sure though. If they suck that bad, then I'll wait till the Michelin's are done with and get the AT's.
