I was wondering if any of you with the Thule/Yakima roof rack with a fairing have experienced a noticeable drop in your fuel mileage. I've been wanting to get one, but with the drop I've gotten from my tires I don't want it to get much worse.

X2. Looking to get one too. Also what's recommended. Any pros and cons of manufacturers.

When I am using mine I always have a canoe or kayak up there, so yeah I notice a difference. That said, I always remove it if I am making a highway trip and don't need it.

I have a thule with a fairing. Honestly, I didn't notice a difference at all. I ran it without the fairing for awhile, but the whistling noise drove me nuts. I highly recommend the Thule, it looks great, easy to install, and is super sturdy.

I lost about .05-1mpg with my rhino rack roof rack and fairing. I always push their brand to military/fire/ems/etc because you can sign up for promotive.com and get a discount.

I have a Thule on top of a camper shell, stock height Prerunner.

I consistently track mileage and have seen absolutely no decrease in the 8 months since install.

    I drive 95% city miles.
