I notice in Ontario that there isn't too many Tacomas on the road, they make up about 5% of the trucks on the road. Theres tons of fords, chevy and dodges up here and I don't know why. Is it because of the financing rate, price of the truck or that you can get a whole lot more of a truck for the same or less money. Just looking for opinions. Thanks Ken

Around me (Northern California), Toyotas outnumber Dodge, Ford, GM. Same up in central Oregon.

I don't really see the utility of F150s and the like. If you need a HD tow rig, get a Dodge diesel (or Duramax or Powerstroke if that's your thing). If you don't need that, the Tacoma or Tundra will do everything else and is a lot more reliable.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
I've been a chevy guy for a long long time. When I went to buy a new one I compared the smaller size trucks side by side and Toyota is no match for chevy, ford or dodge small trucks. Quality is by far better and price right about the same. I got great financing and actually have it paid off.
I don't know about Canada but south of the border the better deal is in the tacoma for a small truck. Longevity and price.

They're more popular because they are inexpensive for the size and power compared to tacomas. My friend got a 4 door silverado with a v8 for about the same price as my Tacoma. Diffence is that mine is easy to maneuver, has great resale and is very reliable.

Ya you nailed it there. The only small truck out there is the canyon, colorado, dakota and frontier. They quit making the ford edge because guys would just buy the full size instead.
