I am planning on purchasing a new Tacoma 6-speed manual Double Cab TRD Off Road. It is scheduled to be built on March 4th. I have added two options; the TRD Cat Back Exhaust and the TRD Short Shift. I am also considering new TRD wheels as well (PTR18-35090-BR). I have wanted one of these for a long time and I must admit that I am excited.

Always looking for recommendations to make it better.

Your are right... it is... going to be a long month. Matt, I enjoyed your pictures. My build is going to be the same color and it was great to be able to show my wife a great example of what it will will look like. She is warming up to my purchase slowly but surely.

My daughter is excited as well because she knows that it will likely be hers in a few years after she graduates college.

Congratulations. Sounds like a great truck. Can't wait to see pictures after you get it.

I finally took delivery of my new Tacoma. I am more than pleased with the final result. I had the TRD High Performance CAT back exhaust and TRD short shift installed at the factory. Once delivered, I had purchased the TRD baja wheels and had them installed at a local shop.

Rear Wheels with exhaust. The wheels match well with the dark metalic grey paint. They come in two pieces (wheel and chrome ring on front). The exhaust is considerably louder but not too loud. Shifting through the gears at about 2500 RPM can sound pretty radical though.

Shifter knob... unique to the TRD short shift kit. Short Shift is the only way to go. Going through the gears is slick and I absolutely love it. Combine the fast shifting at 2500 RPM with the TRD exhaust, it is very BAAAAAADDDD!
