Spent the weekend out of town for the holiday at my uncles. He lives down some unimproved roads in the country. The truck got fairly muddy going in and out of town. I got back yesterday and got the truck washed the best as I could.

My problem is I am now having a bad squeal from the front end. Its on the drivers side or that's what it sounds like. Its only when I am driving slow and its not constant. I know its not my brakes. I didn't hear it all weekend. Could some mud or water have gotten into my front hub or inside my drive shaft boots? Will it work it self out? Do I need to do something? What else could it be?

Not the same truck but I drive Chevy and Fords at work and sometimes rocks get stuck in between the brake dust cover behind the rotor and cause a squeal. Best bet would be to jack up the truck and take off the front tire and look around everything so u get a better view of what's going on and maybe u can pin point the sound.

+1, use to happen on my Sporttrac at times. I would spin the wheel before removing. I had to ger a long screwdriver to pry some of the rocks out.

Sometimes the dust shield can just get bent too and touch the brake rotor.

I took my tire off this morning and cleaned all around it. Then took it for a drive and no more squeal. I was glad it was nothing major. Thanks for the ideas guys.
