I am looking at doing a roll on bed line for my double cab short box. I know its plastic but I am looking for traction for my pup, he jumps in and seems to be hesitant as he is sliding around when he lands in the bed. I don't leave him in the back when moving but it is helpful to have him in the bed while prepping for our adventures.

What roll on bed liners has anyone used with success? How much do I need to cover the bed floor, sidewalls and tailgate?

I just noticed you are in Dallas too. Keep an eye on Craigslist as well. You should have no problem finding a bed mat.

    Good luck!

I bought a bed mat from my dealer for around $100. I bought it mainly for my dog. She loves it and doesnt slide around at all. Worth every penny

Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
There is some stuff called raptor liner that is a DIY spray on bed liner 2 part epoxy for $100-150 I've heard good things about. Kit comes with an air gun and 4 liters with hardener.most say 1 liter does one coat on a standard bed didn't sound to bad to me. My wifes sisters father-in-law (if U followed that I'm impressed) owns a paint shop and he said that it should ha e no problem adhearing to composite.

    I bounce it offa stuff.
I got a DeeZee rubber bed mat from Jegs for $51. With the bed on the 2nd gens, this is going to be the option that saves you the most time and money. I have no reservations about putting my eggs and bread in the bed next to a gallon of milk and 5 rattlecans of paint. Nothing moves around back there. My bed mat is one of my favorite mods, even counting the lift I haven't installed yet.

Duplicolor undercoating spray. $7 a can. 10 minute job. You can mask the sides if you want so you only hit the floor.

I agree with others regarding a rubber mat. I don't think any bedliner application will add anymore traction than the composite bed, especially if it's remotely wet. The only way I would do any bedliner paint is when the bed is in need of repair/makeover. When that time comes, I would avoid Herculiner and go with roll on Monstaliner or U-pol Raptor if spraying. Herculiner is very rough on bare skin and will tend to fade. Cheaper Duplicolor or Rustoleum bedliner products will not hold up long term or abuse.

The bed already has texture so spraying in a liner will have plenty to adhere to. If you want more grip, dust in a layer of fine sand on a wet coat, then top coat that to lock it in.

I saw this thread, it pushed me again. I had seen the DZ one and the Tacoma one. I can never find the used Tacoma one, and the dealer wants more than I care to spend on a dumb mat. I went DZ.
