37" tires with 24 MPG??

so i was in a parking lot and saw a guy pull next to me in a massive 2011 dblcb sport. it had 6 in suspension lift and 3 in body lift with 37 inch tires. I said man i have 33 in tires and get 16 mpg you must get like 13!! and he says NOPE! i have a chip in my truck set to the economy setting and i get 24MPG!!!! is that possible with our trucks? or is he bull shi**ing me? i have a hard time believing it

I'm lucky to get 12 with my 35's... I need this chip

My brother had a similar chip in his a4 avant...on valet feature, you couldn't drive over 20mph...maybe that's what he's doing...but still not 24mpg.

 

With stock gears and that tall of tires on all hwy at 65mph he'd be running like 1200 rpms if the mighty 4.0 had the balls and theoretically could ne geared high enough to get 24 mpg but city would be like 6.

 

He was over compensating for something and I am just not talking about the gas mileage.
