I really want to get this size tire but not 100% convinced it will comfortable fit given my rim's BS and offset.

I had a thread going over in the Wheels forum about it.
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/wheels-tires/271068-want-move-265-70r18-285-65r18-possible.html

I was hoping someone with BFG ATs 285/65r/18 on a 18x9 rim could help me with the following:

    1) measure the thread width, from the edge of the thread to the other.
    2) find a straight-edge as long as the diameter of the tire, place is on the tire over the center of the rim and measure the distance between the bottom of the straight edge to the lip of the rim
    3) measure the distance from the lip of the rim to where the straight edge rests on the bulge of the sidewall.

I can compare those measurements to my current tire (Grabber AT2) and see if I I have enough room to spare for the wider sectional width.

I know this is an odd request but could really save me time and a headache.

    Thanks!
