Bought a 10/22 Charger, want a red dot

I don't have a clue about scopes or red dots. Looking for something sub $250. Don't know if I need any magnification, but would like to use the Charger throughout it's effective range. I looked at a red/green dot Vortex today at my LGS that came with an attachment for magnification but significantly decreased the viewing window. Without the attachment I liked it just fine, especially the spring loaded lens covers. They are asking $170 for it.







What have you used in this type of application, what worked, and what should I avoid?

 

Vortex Strikefire would be a decent choice.
