    If you are long wheel base like Tacoma ... You need sliders or atleast 33" tires and 6" lift

    Stock Tacoma skids are sufficient for 90% of the trails
    But yesterday I was glad I had steel skids , when I played on the rock garden

    Most short wheel bases like jeeps and 4runners don't need sliders

    There nice to have though (sliders) save me some damage yesterday. This was a hard hit, it's about a 16th of an inch deep.

    Everytime I go ..my sliders get deep scratches .. It's the hard flint rock that's spread around in places
    For the most part it's all limerock ...but the flint is bad stuff, will cut steel, then will def cut rubber ...my tires get little razor cuts Everytime I go in the back of property , after the stump and big drop ... Lots more flint back there

    You took that hit on the rock garden, a spot that can be avoided easily ... So had you not played on the rocks, you really wouldn't have "needed" the sliders or skids to ride the trails ....
    Correct me if I'm wrong

    Yea, you saw the chunk out of my tread, but I didn't notice half a wheel weight ground off until I cleaned the runner today.

    True, if you go out there w/o sliders go with someone who really knows the area(like Thomas and Chris). They know all the potential hazzards and bypasses.

    We learned that finesse isn't one of my strong points, my answer to most issues was more throttle.

    :thumbsup: that will change with the SAS and locker ... Some front bumper weight would help too

    Yeah I use stick on weights inside the rim .. But sometimes the mud causes them to come off
    But they are safe from rocks that way

    Wish I would have found those ^ before I paid $50 for trailhead deflators
    Oh well I got a cool carry case for storage , an air gauge, a tire size/psi chart , and a sticker with my deflators
