Hey tw I posted this in the 1st gen area but really didn't find a answer so ill throw it up here. Here's the story,
I had a shop put in a cheap set of hids. The shop isn't a very big place but seemed to treat me alright till the last few months. So everything worked highs and lows but the high beam light in the dash never went on. The guy said that's normal with hids. I said ok ill deal with it. But now recently when the head lights have been on for an hour and I turn them off one light wont go back on or both of them won't go back on. This is very annoying when I go on long trips for work and I have to fuel up. For the past 2 months I was worried my lights would even turn on. So I buy a new kit from a high end installer by my house. He does all the lambos and ferraris by me. He said that shop that put my original kit is in very shady and does crappy work. So I said throw in the new kit I bought from him. He just called me saying my high beams won't work. I told him they worked last night I don't know what the problem could be. He tested his new kit on his bench everything worked so its my truck. I told him out everything back to stock and try that. Still no high beams. He said the indicator lamp inside would flicker really quick and go out. I said well we need to fix this so go ahead and start testing connections. He tested under my steering column I had power for the highs. He tested the relay under the hood. I had power. But when it comes to testing the headlights there was no power where you plug the lights into. Does anyone know what to check next? Seems to be a broken wire but they worked fine the other night? And I don't think a high end place like this would break a wire and try to cover it up
