Anyone else notice this? I have USB thumb drive connected and DVD loaded. If I leave source set to DVD, when starting vehicle and unit up the DVD skips a bit at the very initial start up. Almost seems like the USB data loading at start up is causing skipping of DVD. Anyone else notice this. It only happens when I have the USB drive plugged in and the source set to DVD when I start my truck.

Please tell me what you used to get that USB blank like that? I also would like to know what shop in NJ you used and how much. Also where did you order that trim kit?

They just happen to fit perfectly, put the iPhone/Pod wire's rectangle block under the USB female that comes off the head unit and they are snug.
I used 6th Ave. Electronics on Rt. 4, (Brian). He modified the cheap black dash kit they carry.

Got this from KenwoodForums.com and tested it last night. Finally no more ugly blue kenwood/garmin start up screen.

Turn unit on and hold down buttons: SOURCE and VOLUME DOWN, Hit the RESET button once. The unit will reboot, continue holding the SOURCE and VOLUME buttons until the screen illuminates. You can now release the buttons. You will see the setup screen, touch OEM, at this point you can plug in your flash drive, select USB and select the name of the drive that appears. Navigate to the PICTURES folder and select your image. Hit OK, the unit will pause for a few seconds and return to the previous screen. Hit the RESET button once more and allow the unit to boot. You should now see your custom startup screen. Restore your settings and have fun.
