If bearings are the issue don't let them go to long. When they implode they usually take out everything on that side costing a couple hundred to thousands in repairs.

Had to replace front wheel bearings this week. The shop was planning to only replace rotors but found the bearings to be bad. Did it all while they had everything apart. Lots of money! My truck has 127,000 miles on it.

Guess someone didn't like my post. Didn't mean to offend, just thought you had gone 2wd.

Someone left me a blank neutral rep? I dunno?

I wasn't trying to be a dick, I just didn't think you were 4wd anymore. Doesn't hurt my feelings I just wanted to make sure you didn't take me the wrong way. I figured it wasn't you but thought... just in case.

Ah well, I won't worry about it then.

Mine sounded noisy too, I didn't have any play but they sounded bad. When I pulled em out, the grease was pretty nasty but I didn't find anything "wrong". OOPS. I'd only replace em if they get really loud or if they have play.

Update: Finally replaced the bearings!!!! So quiet and smooth now. lol

Took them off in less than an hour and had them pressed in and out.

Side note: Old bearings on the outside race had to be cut/hacked off in order to press new ones in. Before doing this job I didnt know the pre-runner bearings had a cap on the inside that screws on to hold the hub together. So that was the most difficult part of getting the thing pressed in and out. So anyone looking to do the pre-runner bearings heads up!
