Well. I f'd up. I was going probably a little too fast around the corner by my house and i tried to not hit a deer. My passenger side tires went off the road and slid just enough to throw me off guard. I over corrected it across the street then back again which made it start to roll over. I hit the ditch with my front end then went upside down and slid down into the ditch. I put my hand through the dash board because the force from the impact tore my hands from the steering wheel and just flailed around. I broke 3 fingers from that and some cuts. I have a minor concussion but thats not tooooo bad. I also hit my chin on the windshield some how, that really hurt. I have only had this truck for 2 months...... I had bought it because i wanted something i could take through the mud and have one hell of a time with. (Prerunner is not cutting it)

It snapped the rear driverside axle clean in two. the hub and brake is still attached the front bumper is toasted. the roof is caved in right above my head. the side mirror got ripped off. the hood is jacked up and multiple dents and what not. Front head lihgts are toasted too. :(

But either way i thank god im alive and its back to driving the trusty ole tacoma back to school.

At least you are able to type this message, the damage from the back doesn't look to devastating.

The hell, "taking" the wheels and tires.. I would scavenge a set of OEM wheels and tires from CL and make them take them.

Go to the junk yard and get some! It's not that hard or expensive. Eff them taking your wheels.

insurance companies own everything that is on the truck
at the time of the accident if they total it.

you can get in a world of legal hurt if you try to change the truck
post accident. often all parts and pieces (tires and wheels included) are
examined for any factors contributing to the loss...therefore you cannot just
go swap anything. could bring the legal pain, or be a non-issue...but
insurance companies own it 100% if you accept payment from them for the loss.

What if he buys it back? Then he can keep them right? Or part it out?

Just talked to insurance. They said all wheels and tires stay on because they have proof of those. So we can get the 1750 in them back. But they have no notion my of my stereo..... So that's all coming out later and stock stuff is going back in.
