I have an 05 TRD SPORT 4x4 with 96k miles on it. Bought it used a year ago. I have noticed since that the rear suspension is extremely weak. With 4 occupants I feel it bottom out on bumps. I started researching here and found the TSB. I knew I would have to come out of pocket due to being over the 36k miles / 3 year mark. Called today to get price just for parts and it's over $700 a piece for the "upgraded" leaf spring set. So it would be over $1500 to fix my truck to where it doesn't bottom out with passengers. I can't spend that much on something that's not technically broke so now I'm looking for other ways to fix this weak leaf problem. Any experience with air bags or add a leafs out there? I'm interested in the effect of normal unloaded ride as well as loaded to Max as I do occasionally haul a tractor with this truck.

There's many options and they're way cheaper than Toyota.. I bought 1.5" AALs for mine and they were only $80 total. Yours are worn out so you'll want new leaf packs, but you can get packs for a lot cheaper. Someone will chime in with better info.
