Does anyone do their own regearing? Are there any write ups?

I know there are ones about getting the assembled ones already and swapping out the third and front ...thats easy...

I am just wondering if anyone actually tackles the full regear themselves? Seems like it would be more money saved and I like to do things on my own...just sometimes like to have a little guidance and things I can read up on beforehand.

No. Well yes... but no. It's not exactly something someone can just walk you through, you have to actually understand what you're doing. So basically no.

Properly regearing a differential takes some skill and knowledge beforehand. While you can do it and follow the directions easy enough, having the right tools to read and set backlash, and understanding proper preload/backlash settings is really necessary. I would not suggest someone tackling it themselves until they understood the settings, how to read them, and how to properly set and adjust them. Even then you should have the proper tools for this job.
