Did you look on YouTube? I'm sure there's some vids of it there. It will sound the same on any 05-13. I have a clip or 2 of it on my 09 but I'm at work and can't post it right now. I'd go a different route if I had it to do over again.

Why is that? I am debating on TRD vs Borla and curious on your thoughts on the TRD. Thanks.

I was very interested in getting an exhaust system. I did my research and found you will get most of the same effect if you just buy the muffler. I got the borla muffler for 100 bucks and took it to a local shop and had them cut it in for another 150 bucks. Ended up being half the price and still dounds good even though I didnt go to a 3 inch pipe.

Just isn't that loud. I'd get the Borla probably or just swap in an aero turbine muffler if I was doing it again. TRD isn't bad but you really only hear it between 2000-4000 rpm it seems and any other time it's like you have nothing on. Obviously for some people that would be a plus.

I have the TRD exhaust - it offers more of a low burble at startup and decent sound in the main RPM range. It is not loud at all if that is what you are looking for. And at speed you really don't notice it much. However, I like mine a lot. I don't think it is so loud as to be "hey look at me and my loud exhaust" yet is just loud enough to suggest itself from a stop light and the exhaust tip looks good. It's a subtle touch in upgrading the sound of the engine. But many want just a little more out of their exhaust in terms of the sound. It's not going to be loud like your full size V8's with super 40's either, and it doesn't sound cheap or revvy IMO.

Here's a couple clips I took when I had the exhaust put on back in 2009. Not the greatest quality but hopefully gives you some idea.

I've have 2012 Tacoma TX-Pro with the TRD exhaust that I picked up new.
The first few months of driving - I did not like it that much because it seemed too quiet.
However around a 800 miles, or so, it seems to have gotten louder and more pronounced.
I now have 3000 miles and like the sound.
It's got a bit of growl but is not obnoxious.
At high RPM gear shifts, I notice people I'm passing looking at the source of the noise, so I know they hear me :)
TRD exhaust has a nice fit and finish also, which not all others can say
    that's my 2 cents

Had the TRD on my 2011 and again on my 2013. It definitely gets a bit louder and slightly deeper over time, but never loud enough to become annoying. would I do it again...Apparently, because I did it to my 2013...Its expensive, but like others have said, the clean fit and finish is worth it IMO...

My TRD broke in well and I love the tone...lets you know I have an exhaust but not as loud as my xb 106dB at WOT...
