I decided on the Sub I want. JL Audio 10w3 shallow mount which is 100-400 watts RMS. the speakers I selected are Alpines S type 6 1/2's components for the front and and the same coaxial speakers for the rear listed at 80 watts RMS a piece. My problem is choosing a 5 channel amp that's good but not too expensive. I'm looking at the Alpine PDX-5. Which costs a little more than I wanted to spend, but if this would work good for the speakers I chose I will suck it up. This amp is 75 watts x 4 and 300 watts x 1. Tell me what you think. Thanks guys.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
A lot of people run the Alpine PDX-5 and never complain but some say they have noise issues. The newer version eliminated that issues. You should also consider the Kenwood XRS-5 or JL Audio XD700/5. Tell you the truth I ran a JL Audio HD600/4 with two sets of front and rear components and a single 12W3V3 for over a year. So if you don't care about fading you can get a good 4 channel amp too.

I think someone else was trying to tell me to do that. So you're saying I can run all five speakers with one four channel amp ?

Yes. Also there is a JL Audio XD 500/3 3 channel amp. If you want to focus on front sound staging you can run the front components off the amp and run the rear coax off the deck power and still power the sub with the amp.

Just remember, you get what you pay for with audio. If you care about sound, don't cut corners. So I'm saying to buy a nice sub and power it with a junk amp.
