    Hey guys,
I'm new to the 2nd gen trucks but am thinking of getting into one if I can find a good deal. Is there any major differences in trucks from years '06-'08? I want a double cab short bed and will probably lift it. Not sure if TRD Sport or Off-Road is the way to go. Can you guys help me out?

    .
05-08, not really, I have an 07. As for the Sport or Off-Road, the Off-Rod has a fully locking rear differential whereas the Sport has a limited slip.

I'll be mostly street driving but there are times where I'm off-road in washes and riverbeds and occasionally some fire access roads.

If you don't like the chrome you can always paint it, dip it, or just buy a painted part. Well a painted part from the dealer, if you like it without lube(high price compared to painting or dipping).
