New to towing w/ tacoma

    I agree that you're being a little over-cautious... but build it however YOU feel comfortable. Your truck will handle it fine.

    I own a small one-man landscaping business, and tow a 3500# 6x10 enclosed with all the gear loaded on it. Granted, my 2012 has the factory tow package, but it handles the trailer just fine.

    One thing I did was add a set of Firestone Ride-Rite airbags to the rear suspension. These trucks are really weak in the suspension dept. Huge difference they made :)

    More towing info than you will know what to do with.

    We have a 19ft. Wilderness TT at 3000lbs. In my opinion the truck does OK towing it. Not great but not bad.
