off road suspension

I plan on off roading about 20 to 30% of the time, but nothing too serious just some fun trails and messing around in the sand a little bit; I would also like to put about a 2.5- 3inch lift on it

With that being said, what are your recomendations on what I should do and please explain what they are such as bilstein ect. and their effects (sorry for the ignorance this will be my first very own tacoma)---Thanks

To keep the cost down I'd recommend Bilstein 5100 shocks set for the 2.5 lift on the front. Since most Tacomas have a weak rear I'd suggest an add a leaf to level it out and give the back a little more load capability. You may need to go to a Bilstein 5125 rear shock but check it out first. or http://downsouthmotorsports.com/ can help you.
