I just found this site while researching Taco access cabs, 4x4. I have owned a toyota Pick up since 1980. My first was a '79, 3/4 ton long bed. Next it was, and is a 92 1-ton V6 long bed. I built utility boxes on it with a bed of 7'-6". Mostly I haul around a small Six-Pac camper and use the utility boxes for extra gear and firewood.

I am wanting to build a new camper (the old six pack is rotting out). When I last had my mechanic work on my truck he was suprised that I never had to have the valves redone (136,000 mi.). Now he has me worried that as soon as I build a camper I might (or might not) find myself looking at several thousand dollar rapair job. I have never been fully satisfied with the 3.0 as far as fuel efficiency goes either. This brings me to my research on the newer generations of V6's. 3.4 or 4.0

I really like the Access cab configuration. The one thing that I don't like about the 2013 models is the touch screen control panel. so I am considering 2012 or older.
