Congrats on the new truck. I am getting about 10 miles to a gallon with my Dodge. Nice looking truck. For a little more I would have chosen the 4x4.

Congrats on the purchase. GL. Looking at your pics I can't help but notice the similarities between the body lines of your truck and a charger....

    As stock as they come.
Im not sure about others, but my intention is to inform. .. the resale - The information that the Ram depreciates quickly - I bought the Crew for 25 and change last year , now, a year later with 23,000 miles on it I can only get 20k in show room shape. That's serious. Hypothetically speaking .. with that knowledge, the OP could choose to send in 1/12 of a payment each month to be applied to principal to cut the cost of the loan and reduce ... not really reduce but, absorb the loss quickly. Noting issues with that truck; all vehicles these days have their "things", he can look out for himself and his pocket. Information is invaluable. Especially with the cost of these vehicles, labor, parts, resale, gas mileage etc etc .. and shady sales people and mechanics add their own special twist.

Facts are facts. 20" wheels look good but lower the towing capacity and there are only two or three tires to choose from (keeping it stock). Yeah the Hemi hauls ass, but the MDS sucks and when you run it, you are going to suck up the gas quick -- However you don't buy a truck like that and worry about gas.

I don't want to get too far off the beaten path as far as the post topic. Id never wish anyone ill will and hope that the OP get thousands of trouble free miles. He will love the power of the Hemi. First toy I recommend is the Gibson swept side cat back exhaust. Adds a sweet deep tone gentle rumble !

Congrats on the new rig, it's an express right? You should look into getting this hood from your local Dodge Dealer.

Looks killer! Sad to see another Taco traded in, but I wish you the best of luck with your Dodge. I see a lot of the new Dodge trucks (and Tacomas, for that matter) being used as city utility vehicles around here- I figure that if the city is willing to buy them in bulk, they must be decent. Good luck!

Payload is about 1600# and towing maxes out at around 9200#. If I need to tow more than that, I will get my 18 wheeler and a trailer from work ;)
As for the mileage issue...I don't drive it to work, so it's basically for pleasure use only. I put less than 6k miles on the Double Cab Tacoma in a little over 8 months. And since its a regular cab, we won't be driving it with the 3 of us in it, which means less miles. So gas won't be a problem. Plus, I got rid of a Tahoe with the 5.7 liter engine when I got the Taco, so I'm used to the mileage.

Yep, it's the Express. I saw one of these hoods in person at the dealer. It was in black, and the scoops weren't that noticeable. I kinda think that the blue would be the same way.

give the guy a break, he was thanking everyone and do not know why anybody would care what someone else buys. you see stickers on trucks with some turd pissing on a ford or chevy or whatever. I've owned Chevy, Ford and Toyota trucks and all have their drawbacks. you get good ones and bad ones in all brands, I guess the worst vehicle for problems was my 1992 4Runner.

OP: That's a nice looking truck you've got there! I too went with a Ram, I have a 2012 Power Wagon. I have the same engine as you but in a 7000lb truck, I bet your truck is a freakin rocket with the Hemi in a reg cab shortbed 2wd!!!!! Anyways, congrats on the new ride!

Nice truck. Good luck with it. Not sure why everyone is bitching about gas mileage it's a full size truck with nearly 400hp. The Tacoma doesn't exactly get stellar gas mileage. I traded mine in on a Tundra and through the first 3 tanks I'm averaging 16mpg with mostly highway miles.

GAS MILEAGE??? HA!!!! I get 11mpg! But, it's not like my MPG with my Tacoma was stellar either, I got 16mpg with it. It's apples to oranges though, the Taco was a V-6 extended cab 4x4 sport with tiny tires versus my Ram is a crew cab (huge spacious cab!) 4x4 2500 Power Wagon 5.7L HEMI with 2" lift, 33's, lockers front and rear, 4.56 gears, a bunch of skid pates, an anti swaybar disconnect, and a 12,000lb capacity Warn winch all standard- I daresay if I had equipped the Taco similarly, I'd not be getting much better mileage with it!

I do miss the slick shifting six speed manual of my Tacoma though, I am not a fan of having an automatic pick my gears for me BUT, regrettably, Ram only sees fit to make the Power Wagon with a slushbox. : (

I'm boosted and now much happier with my Tacoma, but I will be honest and say that I probably wouldn't turn down a good deal on a new Ram or Ecoboost F150
