I am thinking of putting a 3" lift and some new tires, maybe wheels on my truck when I get back from Afghanistan. What adivce do you have for me? Will I need to re-gear my truck for gas mileage and performance?

Currently I am thinking of putting a 3" lift on it, 33 inch tires, and maybe some new rims for my 4x4 TRD Off Road 08 Double Cab.

Heated katzskin leather, Black TRD sport wheels, Bilstein 5100s, Toytec 2" Springs, Deaver 2" AAL, Pioneer AVH4400BH, Ultragauge, Weathertechs front/rear,
No regear needed, No trimming needed and could fit whatever wheel as long as BS and offset and lug was good :D.

Any idea on lift ideas? Looking for looks, Use or looks and USE?

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
In my opinion a 3" lift best suites our trucks, 3" should be the max. It does look good too! I just did half mine (rear). I put new OME/ Dakar leaf springs along with Bilstein 5125's. I'm gonna finish the front tomorrow, but the back looks awesome! I'm putting bilstein 5100 adjustables w/ eibach coils in front. From what the back looks like, I'd recommend this lift.

    GOODLUCK!

I went with Eibach 2" springs and 5100s all around with an AAL in the rear, I like it but i want a little more quality. Going to go with King C/O 2.5s in the front with TC UCAs and King Resi in the rear with Alcan 9 leaf. :D Should be a much better ride.

I am going to looks mainly, but I do take it hunting and off roading several times a year, so it must have performance to match. I am not looking for extreme or high speed off roading. Also, will is affect my ability to tow, other than needing a drop hitch.

Nah, If you plan on towing a lot and you have high miles on your leafs id recommend going at least OME Dakars so you dont get any dip in the rear. I think 5100s and eibach coils in front would be fine for you man, If you wanted to go any crazier you could look into ToyTec Coilovers.

What about faster wear on the joints, bearings, tie rods, etc?

My carrier bearing has been getting a little beaten up lately but thats from the increased angle, ive heard that usually staying on top of alignments and making sure all your driveline angles stay pretty lined up then you're good. Get upgraded UCAs and dont crank the billys past .85 and youll be fine.

Not sure. Budget is my primary limitation so we will see. If I can afford it, I will probably get new UCAs. I need to do more research as my goal is to ensure this lift does not damage other parts/systems in the truck, provides a good ride, and looks great.

Already here! Looking to lift my truck as a gift to myself when I get home and meet my son! If I am able to do the lift it will probably be in the fall. I'll be sure to post some photos once I get here dirty and then clean again. :) Thanks for you for support and I hope your friend is doing well.
